Richard Erskine, Ph.D.
Sponsored by: nscience UK

a two-day training workshop: 24 & 25 June 2016, Friday & Saturday
London, UK

At this two-day workshop Richard uses both lectures and live demonstrations to elucidate the Theory and Methods of Relational Psychotherapy. Specifically, the workshop covers:

  • Interpersonal contact
  • Phenomenological Inquiry
  • Affect, Developmental and Rhythmic Attunement and
  • Therapeutic Presence through Acknowledgement, Validation, and
  • Normalization

Keeping in mind the therapeutic challenges we face as psychotherapists, psychologists, counsellors and psychiatrists, Richard describes the Eight Relational-Needs essential for human development and wellbeing. He focusses on the centrality of an involved therapeutic relationship while emphasizing the in- depth methods of a psychotherapy that integrates the client's affect, cognition, physiology and behaviour. The practical workshop places emphasis on the clinical application of theoretical concepts, refining psychotherapy skills, effective utilization of relational methods, and the intersubjective use of countertransference.

The workshop will take place at Ambassadors Bloomsbury, 12 Upper Woburn Place, London, WC1H 0HX
