Workshops di Psicoterapia Integrativa
Dreams, Fantasies, and Illusions
Richard Erskine, Ph.D.
Sponsored by UK Relational Psychotherapy Association and The Manchester Psychotherapy Training Institute
Dreams, fantasies, and illusions are important aspects of human experience. They reveal unconscious dimensions of our sub-symbolic experiences; the developmental origins of unconscious relational and pre-reflexive patterns; physiological survival reactions and non-conscious organization of experience; and the significance of nonverbal communication.
This five-day experiential workshop will focus on the centrality of the therapeutic relationship while emphasizing the in-depth methods of a psychotherapy that integrates unconscious communication with the client’s affect, cognition, physiology, and behavior. Various methods of decoding unconscious communication; deciphering the meaning of dreams; the significance of fantasy; the power of illusion, and working within an involved therapeutic relationship will be taught and demonstrated.
This experiential workshop is for mental health professionals who want to apply theory into clinical practice as well as enhance their effectiveness through identifying the inherent meanings in dreams, illusions, and fantasies that may be present in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Erskine will demonstrate, teach, and elaborate on the concepts in Relational Patterns, Therapeutic Presence by Richard Erskine, 2015; Beyond Empathy: A Therapy of Contact in Relationship by Richard Erskine, Janet Moursund, and Rebecca Trautmann, 1999; and Integrative Psychotherapy in Action, by Richard Erskine & Janet Moursund, 2011 (available at www.karnacbooks.com)
