This series of 10 Relational Group Psychotherapy sessions is for mental health pro-fessionals who want to apply theory into clinical practice and enhance their own effec-tiveness through identifying contact interruptions, script beliefs, and unconscious re-strictions in forming interpersonal relationships.

The workshop has two objectives. First, it will provide the experienced psychothera-pist with a forum to discuss the theory and methods of a relationally - oriented group
psychotherapy: second, it will provide an opportunity to be actively involved in a
Psychotherapy Group that emphasizes Relational Group Process. Richard and Amaia will focus on enhancing relationships via the full involvement of each group member.
Emphasis will be placed on facilitating the healing of relational - disruptions that may have occurred in school, the family, with peers, and in previous group settings.
In the teaching portion of this seminar Richard Erskine will draw on the history and theory of group psychotherapy. He will outline the advantages and disadvantages of group therapy and the models of "therapy by the group", "therapy in the group" and "therapy though the group process". We will explore the various characteristics of the transferential process that may occur in groups and the importance of ongoing inter-personal contact.
