Workshops di Psicoterapia Integrativa
The Psychotherapy of Obsession, Habitual Worry, and Repetitive Fantasizing
Richard G. Erskine & Amaia Mauriz-Etxabe
BIOS Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy Training, Bilbao, Spain
Through lecture, case discussion, and live therapy demonstrations this 5-day workshop will present a six point treatment plan for the psychotherapy of clients who engage in obsession, habitual worrying, and repetitive fantasizing. We will explore the psychological functions, script beliefs, processes of avoidance, archaic experiences, relational-needs, and self-responsibility that are dimensions of obsessing, worrying and repetitive fantasizing. The methods of cognitive understanding, behavioral change, affective expression, and a relational psychotherapy will be applied in the treatment planning.
This experiential workshop is for mental health professionals who want to apply theory in clinical practice and to enhance their effectiveness through identifying aspects of their own contact interruption, life script, and countertransference. Richard and/or Amaia will do live therapy with some of the members of the group. They will then discuss the theory and methods used in the live therapy.
